The Benue State Government has unveiled plans to set up a commission of inquiry to investigate the remote and immediate causes of the mayhem in Ukum Local Government Area, while decisive action will be taken to bring the disturbance in the area to an end.
BENUE State Governor, Hyacinth Alia,who made this known in a broadcast says his administration has exhausted the elasticity of its patience with the armed bandits hiding in forests and will no longer guarantee the olive branch he severally extended to them in the past.
Reactions have continued to trail Tuesday and Wednesday’s worrisome turn of events in parts of Ukum local government area of the State which led to a total break down of law and order, necessitating this State wide broadcast by the Chief security officer of the State Governor Hyacinth Alia.
Governor Alia promised to wield the big stick shortly after he received briefs from his deputy Sam Ode who had visited the affected areas.

According to him more action will be taken to demonstrate his unwavering commitment to bring the retrogressive activities in the entire area to an end.
He encouraged the people to channel their energy, pain and frustration towards constructive actions.
Alia assured the entire people of the State that in spite of the challenges, development remains a priority of his administration’s agenda adding that he will leave no stone unturned in his pursuit of a safe and prosperous Benue State
