Gov. Ayade provides water, health centres in rural communities

Over 50 communities in Cross River State have benefited from the provision of rural water, sanitations and improved healthcare facilities by the State Government.

The initiative is part of the State Government Community Connect and Development Programme.

While commissioning some of the projects in the North and Central parts of the State Governor Ben Ayade said the programme was aimed at improving the standard of health and hygiene in the state.

He said it was also to create a conducive environment in line with the Sustainable Development Goal 2030.

Ayade who was represented by the Commissioner for International Development Cooperation, Inyang Asibong, explained that improving access to quality water ,healthcare delivery and general well-being of the people in the rural Communities remain the primary objective of his administration.

In response, the General Manager of Cross River Community and Social Development Agency Fidel Undie said the projects will certainly draw the benefits of good governance closer to the people.

The State Community and Social Development Agency is a World Bank Assisted Partnership Programme with the Cross River State Government which Governor Ayade said his administration will always prioritize by regularly paying its counterpart funding obligations.
