Cross River State Governor, Professor Ben Ayade Says the need to showcase Cross River and Nigeria on the world tourism map is the driving force behind the ongoing construction of the Obudu International Passenger and Cargo Airport.
Ayade stated this while inspecting the project.
He expressed optimism that the airport will be completed in a record time.
Describing the airport as the link between the South and Northern Nigeria, the Governor extended his invitation to the federal ministry of Aviation to the site to assess the progress of work.
The Governor said the building of the airport with 5.6 meters runway, which is the longest in Nigeria is to enable tourism and business thrive around the iconic Obudu Mountain Resort and its environ.

He solicited the support of the Federal Government in its completion considering the cost implication of the project.
On his part, the Senior Special Adviser On Technical Matters to the Governor, Eric Akpo assured that the April 2022 completion target was achievable.
