Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has described the Court of Appeal’s Judgement which uphold his election for a second term in office as governor as an affirmation of his landmark victory on November 16, 2019.

The appellate Court delivered judgment on Saturday evening in the appeals filed by the Action Peoples Party, (APP), the Democratic Peoples Party, (DPP), the Social Democratic Party, (SDP) and the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) against the corresponding judgments of the Kogi State elections petitions tribunal which last month dismissed their various election petitions against the governor and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a Press release by the Chief Press Secretary, to the governor, Onogwu Muhammed, he said that the 4 judgments by the court of appeal upholding his victory in the election and at the Tribunal were validations of the historic mandate given to him by Kogi people.

The governor lauded the 5-man panel which heard the matter for their uprightness while thanking the entire citizens of the state for their support and prayers since the filing of appeals by various individuals and parties.

The Governor noted that “The rule of law once again came to the defense of democracy by affirming the collective will of the people of Kogi State as expressed on the 16th of November, 2019.”

Describing the quartet of judgments as outstandingly and astoundingly thorough. Gov. Bello noted that the judiciary remains the last hope of the common man.

While calling on all Kogi indigenes to join his administration in moving the state forward, Governor Bello reiterated his resolve to continue working for the unity of Kogi State by running an all-inclusive administration characterised by open-door policies, and visionary developmental milestones.
