Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has called for the use of electronic voting system to reduce thuggery and violence in future Nigerian elections.
Speaking to journalists at a post-election briefing in Yenagoa, the state capital, the Governor thanked the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for the smooth conduct of the elections, describing the electoral processes as unprecedented in the history of the state.
He, however, tasked the INEC to improve on the successes recorded in future elections, particularly the 2023 general polls, emphasizing that electronic voting remains the best option.

The Governor congratulated the two PDP senators elect including former Governor Seriake Dickinson and assured them of his support, to move the state to greater heights.
