Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa state has cautioned political actors particularly those who have cases before the court against interfering on matters of the court but to allow the rule of law prevail.
Governor Diri who spoke through his Deputy, Lawrence Ewrudjakpo at this week’s executive council meeting was reacting to recent disruption of proceedings by thugs at a Yenagoa High Court over an intra-party matter concerning the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state.
At the 72nd Bayelsa state executive council meeting of the present administration, the Deputy Governor who presided over the meeting said
the frequency at which the judiciary was being threatened and maligned, was beyond permissible thresholds in any society.

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the Governor again appealed to all politicians to eschew criminality and brigandage as they go about pursuing their legitimate political ambitions.
Key actors were also advised to be ready to make sacrifices in the overall interest of the ruling party in the state when and where necessary, to move the party and the state forward.
