The Bayelsa Governor, Senator Douye Diri, says his administration is willing to partner and synergise with all security institutions operating in the state to protect the lives and property of its citizens.

Governor Diri made the assurance when he played host to the New Commander Nigerian Navy Ship, Soroh, the Comptroller of the Nigerian Immigration Service, and the State Sector Commander of the FRSC, in Yenagoa, the state capital on Wednesday.

One key area that Governor Diri’s administration is seen to have set its compass on is the area of ensuring zero tolerance to crime and criminalities in Bayelsa State.

The Governor welcomed the newly deployed Commander of NNS, Commodore Patrick Effah, Comptroller of the NIS, Betty Alawode, and Sector Commander of the Bayelsa State Federal Road Safety Corps, Robert Ogom, in his office.

While applauding the efforts of security personnel in the protection of lives and property, the Governor also expressed concern at the upsurge in water ways crime.

Another agenda of the Diri’s government is the plan to decongest the state capital through road construction to ease traffic situation.

The Governor stressed that the fight against crime and criminality should not be seen as the responsibility of the government and security personnel alone but that of all and sundry.
