The Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri has called for effective management of funds allocated for ecological challenges in the country by both the States and the Federal Government.
He expressed worry over the current arrangement where ecological funds were managed in Abuja by people that know little or nothing about the ecological problems of the states.
Governor Diri stated this in Government House, Yenagoa, when he hosted members of the House of Representatives Committee on Ecological Fund.

Cchairman of the House Committee on Ecological Fund, Isiaka Ibrahim and his team later visited Emadike community in Ogbia Council Area to inspect ongoing shore protection work.
