The median edition of the governor Douye Diri female football pre-season tournament has kicked off in Yenagoa.
In the opening game of day one, saw host Bayelsa queens overcome their delta state counterparts by a lone goal, while Rivers Angels defeated Imo strikers by two goals to one.
It is the first edition of governor Douye Diri female football pre-season tournament ahead of the new season for the Nigeria women football league.
After the game both coaches spoke on the outcome and applaud the initiative of the Bayelsa governor passion for female football
In other matches, Rivers Angles defeated Imo strikers by two goals to one. While Bayelsa Princess and FC Robo of Lagos played out a goalless draw. The tournament is featuring ten teams across the country.
