Bayelsa State Government has called on the Sports Federations in the country to develop a template that will guarantee early and adequate preparations for upcoming national and international sporting competitions.
Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri made the submission in Yenagoa when he declared open the 2021 Edition of Nigeria Olympic Committee Annual General Meeting.
The Governor who spoke through his Deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo made a case for Nigeria Sports Development.

Responding, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Sunday Dare who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ismaila Abubakar remarked that, All Sporting Federations in the country should collaborate with the nations Ministry of Youth and Sports to get the support of the private sector to fund sporting programmes in the country.
The Chairman of the Nigeria Olympic Committee, Gamel Abu later presented an award of appreciation to the Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo as well as the Minister of Youth and Sports.
