The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno wants the Federal University of Technology, Ikot Abasi in Akwa Ibom state, to develop technology to combat cybercrime in the country.
Governor Eno was speaking at the investiture of Muhammadu Muazu 11 as the Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Ikot Abasi
Akwa Ibom state Governor, Umo Eno represented by his deputy, Senator Akon Eyakenyi pointed out the need for the institution to help in combatting cybercrime.
The Sarkin Sudan Kontagora in Niger state, Muhammadu Barau Mu’azu was installed as the first Chancellor of the newly established Federal University of Technology, Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom state.
The visitor to the University and minister of Education, represented by a director in the ministry , Stella Ugochukwu noted that the exemplary character of the traditional rulers endeared him to those who honored him with the position.
The newly installed Chancellor who was accompanied by a strong delegation from Niger state including two former Governors, promised to live up to expectations.
The Federal University of Technology, Ikot Abasi was one of the two Federal Universities of Technology to be established in June 2021 by former President Muhammadu Buhari
