Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara says a list being circulated on the social media purported to be the names of approved State and Local Government Areas caretaker committee members of his party the PDP is fake, and has been altered to include the names of persons smuggled in to be part of the various Caretaker Committees.

Governor Fubara who was speaking at the flag-off of the construction of the Port Harcourt International Automobile Spare Parts Trading & Commercial Centre, notes that the purported list which is the handiwork of desperate politicians will not stand, adding that the decision of the Party to extend the tenure of its executives in some States including Rivers does not give anybody the power to include new names or refuse to confer with the Governor, who is the leader of the Party in the State.

Governor Sim Fubara says his administration would stop at nothing to improve the well-being of the people and promote economic growth across the Rivers State.

Governor Fubara could not avoid talking politics as he used the occasion to raise the alarm over what he says is an attempt by some persons to illegally alter the names of approved State and Local Government executive members of his party, the PDP.

The National Working Committee of the PDP had on the 29th of March 2024 approved the appointment of the executives whose tenures have expired in some States, Local governments, and ward chapters

The Caretaker committees were mandated to run the affairs of the Party at the appropriate levels for a period of three months.

The Governor assured the people that he would continue to tow the path of peace, but warned that his patience should not be taken as a sign of weakness

The Rivers State Governor also uses the opportunity to call on the people to continue to be law abiding and do what is right to promote the development of the State.
