The Rivers State Government on Friday inaugurated the fifteen point two-four (15.24) kilometre road that connects all three local government areas of the Kalabari kingdom to the rest of the state
Giving details of the 21. 2 billion-naira project, Governor Sim Fubara says the immediate past administration only paid six billion naira out of the total sum while his administration was saddled with the responsibility of paying the remaining balance of 15.2 billion naira to the contractor.

The governor says the clarification became necessary because of mischievous claims being made in some quarters that his administration is reaping from where it did now sow.
The governor says the clarification became necessary in order to set the records straight
Governor Fubara, who approved the extension of the road to Abonnema in Akuku Toru local government area, said there is no going back on the construction of the Trans-Kalabari road, which will officially commence on Monday

The governor also used the opportunity to appeal to the Kalabari people to support the efforts of the federal government, particularly in the fight against illegal oil bunkering and vandalization of the nation’s oil assets
On hand to inaugurate the road project was the Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Seriake Dickson
The former Bayelsa State Governor commended Governor Sim Fubara for his maturity, patience, and love for his people
