A school building committee for the construction of sixty schools across the sixteen Local Government Areas of Taraba State has been constituted.

Governor Agbu Kefas has also laid the foundation of a school at a construction site in Jalingo to officially kickstart the projects expected to last six months.

The secondary and primary schools free education policy of the State Government has seen an increase in school enrollments across the state.

This has necessitated the construction of more structures across public schools to meet the rising population.

The committee is mandated to construct 60 schools across the 16 Local Government Areas of the state.

The governor directed immediate takeoff of the projects and charged the committee to maintain due diligence.

To back up his words with action, Governor Agbu Kefas was at the Comprehensive Boys Secondary School in Jalingo, where he conducted a groundbreaking ceremony to signify the takeoff of the schools projects.

It will be recalled that the governor promised to reconstruct the school after assessing its level of dilapidation in 2023.

The Taraba school construction project also aims to provide job opportunities for youths in the state.
