Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has inaugurated two thousand, six hundred and forty-six Community Protection Guards, (CPGs), to work with security agencies to fight the terrorists unleashing terror on innocent citizens in the state.
The governor reiterated his administration’s position not to negotiate with the terrorists, but for security forces to continue to prosecute the war until they are flushed out of the state, and peace restored.
Gathered at the Gusau trade fair complex were Governors of the Northwest States, Katsina: Umar Radda, Kano: Abba Yusuf, Kebbi: Nasiru Idris, Jigawa: Umar Namadi and Kaduna, represented by his deputy Hadiza Balarabe, former Governors of Sokoto and Zamfara, General Aliyu Gusau, PDP Stalwarts and heads of security agencies, among other dignitaries.
They were in Gusau, the Zamfara State Capital, for the inauguration of the Community Protection Guards, initiated by Governor Dauda Lawal, to assist the security operatives, in waging the war against the terrorists, attacking, killing and abducting law-abiding people.

Governor Dauda Lawal believes that with the inauguration of the Community Protection Guards (CPGs), the fight against banditry will be enhanced, and peace restored in Zamfara State.
The Chairman of the Northwest Governors’ Forum and the Katsina State Governor, Umar Radda, maintained that they will not negotiate with the terrorists, but wage war against them and bring back peace in the region.
General Aliyu Gusau, who was the chairman of the occasion, called for the cooperation of security agencies with the Community Protection Guards, (CPGs), by sharing credible intelligence, that will enable them to collectively stamp out banditry and other forms of crime.
The Zamfara State people hope that the inauguration of the Community Protection Guards will reduce the incessant attacks, abductions, and killings, and bring back peace in the state.
