Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal presents 2025 Budget

Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal has presented an Appropriation Bill of N545 billion for the 2025 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly for consideration and passage into law.

The Governor made the presentation on Thursday, where he informed the State lawmakers that the 2025 Appropriation Bill is designed with careful consideration of the present economic realities of the country, to ensure that priorities align with the aspirations of the people and the administration’s transformative goals.

Governor Dauda Lawal, while presenting the 2025 budget estimates, highlighted the key performances and achievements of the current 2024 budget.

They included; the renovation, rehabilitation, and equipping of some General Hospitals and schools in the State, and the reconstruction of roads, among others.

He told the lawmakers that his administration has sustained the culture of reforms in the public sector, aimed at improving efficiency, reducing waste, and ensuring the effective utilisation of public resources.

The total package of the 2025 budget estimate is put at N545, 014, 575,000.00, and has been broken down into recurrent expenditure, which stands at N151, 680, 000,000.00, while capital expenditure is N393, 334, 575, 000.00.

The Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Isma’il Moriki, commended Governor Dauda Lawal for the transformation of the State’s infrastructure being witnessed, and assured that the lawmakers will expedite the passage of the Appropriation bill into law.

The Zamfara State 2025 budget prioritises key sectors, which are security, education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, and economic growth.

It also made provision for the payment of the Federal Government N70,000 new minimum wage to the State workers.
