Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde says it has become imperative for stakeholders to open discussion on the vexed issues of resource control and State Police.
The Governor stated this at a conference for presiding officers across the nation’s legislature at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) Ibadan.
Addressing the gathering,
Makinde urged politicians irrespective of party affiliations to strive more for democratic governance which he said remians the panacea for achieving equitable distribution of resources, fairness, equity and justice.
In his goodwill message, the host Speaker Hon Adebo Ogundoyin said the legislature has a big role to play in the ongoing review of the Constitution.
At the end of deliberations, the conference issued a five point communique read by the conference Chairman, Hon Abubakar Suliaman.
The conference hopes that the Federal Government will tackle issues of insecurity ravaging the country.
