Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has made a request for the establishment of a Mobile Police Squadron unit in Oyo Town.
Governor Makinde made the request when the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, paid him a visit at his office and in Ibadan the state capital.

The Governor briefed the Inspector-General on the security situation in the state and commended the efforts of the Police Commissioner, Officers, and Men of the State command.
The Inspector General said he is In the state to rub minds with stakeholders on security as well as officers and men of the Police force.
He also informed the Oyo state Governor on the directive of the President to recruit junor police officers across the 774 Local Government areas of the Federation.
The Inspector-General of Police is officially visiting Oyo State for the first time since his appointment.
