Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, says the year 2026 will not come easy, warning that rising geopolitical tensions across the world could weigh heavily on revenue projections for nations and sub-nationals alike.
The Governor spoke on Monday at the Government House Chapel, Enugu, during a New Year mass to usher in 2026.
He noted that in the face of these uncertainties, it has become even more important for Enugu State to focus on strengthening its Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, so the State can remain steady and better absorb possible economic shocks from the global space.
The Governor expressed confidence that 2026 will bring positive outcomes for the people of Enugu State, declaring the year a “victory lap” for his administration, one that will reflect the gains of hard work, discipline, and strategic planning.
