Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, says his victory at the Court of Appeal on Friday has further reaffirmed his trust and belief in the nation’s judiciary as the last hope for the common man.
Speaking at the Government House in Enugu, South East Nigeria shortly after the court judgment, Mbah emphasized that the victory was not just personal but a win for the advancement of democracy and its benefits to the people.
He pledged to channel increased energy and commitment to build on the gains made by his administration in the last few months, thereby ensuring a positive impact on Enugu State.
Governor Mbah extended gratitude to the people for enduring the period of litigations, in what he said was aimed at tarnishing the government’s image.

In Friday’s judgment, the Court of Appeal in Lagos dismissed the appeal by the Labour Party’s governorship candidate, Chijioke Edeoga, seeking to annul Governor Peter Mbah’s election.
The Appellate court cited the failure of the Labour Party candidate to prove issues related to qualification and over-voting as reasons for the dismissal, affirming the Tribunal’s decision in favor of Mbah and the PDP.
