Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah

Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, says his administration has introduced a new initiative called the “Farm Estate”, aimed at boosting the State’s agricultural production and ensuring large-scale output.

The Governor, made the disclosure when he received Nigeria’s Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, at the Government House, Enugu, revealing that the Farm Estate project will be established across all 260 wards in the State.

The Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu was accompanied by the Austrian Ambassador to Nigeria, Thomas Schlesinger on the visit.

The Minister said the visit was to assess the outcome of the partnership between the Austrian Government and the Enugu State Government, as well as to evaluate interventions under the NG-CARES programme.

Senator Bagudu described the partnership between the Enugu State Government and Austria as a model for other States to follow.

For Governor Mbah, the success of the Enugu-Austria partnership lies in its foundation of mutual respect and shared objectives.

He briefed the Minister on key developmental projects his administration is driving, including the Farm Estate initiative, which he emphasized will play a crucial role in revitalizing the state’s agricultural sector.

The Farm Estate project will be established in all 260 wards in the State, with each ward set to receive 200 hectares of designated farmland for the initiative.

Governor Mbah also called for greater Federal Government support in state-level developments, pointing out that many of the challenges facing Nigeria can be effectively addressed at the sub-national levels, and when states achieve success, it will positively impact the nation as a whole.
