Gov. Mbah Sets Performance Benchmark for MDAs in Enugu State

Political appointees in the Enugu State government, South East Nigeria, have ended a retreat, Sunday with Governor Peter Mbah setting performance benchmark for all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, MDAs in the State.

Mbah told all those in his governance management team that each of them would be assessed by their performance, saying the administration was in a hurry to deliver on its campaign promises.

The Governor who was speaking at the close of a three-day Executive Leadership Retreat held for senior political appointees at the Nike Lake Resort in Enugu, restated his commitment to making Enugu State the premier destination for business, investment, tourism, and the most livable.

Speaking on the theme of the retreat: “Strategic Leadership for Disruptive Innovation and Sustainable Development”, Governor Mbah tasked the political appointees on the challenge of growing the state’s economy to a $30billion Gross Domestic Product, GDP, from its present $4.4billion portfolio, insisting that it is achievable.

The retreat which lasted from Friday to Sunday brought together leadership, developmental, financial, climate, public sector, strategy and innovation experts, such as Prof. Joseph Urama of the African Development Bank, Dr. Ibukun Awosika, Linus Okorie, Dr. Joe Abah, Dr. Sam Onyia, and Prof. Chukwumerije Okereke, had top Enugu State government officials in attendance.
