Governor Peter Mbah says Enugu State has attracted global attention under his administration, a development that comes with higher expectations the state must now live up to.
He spoke at the swearing-in of 13 newly appointed Permanent Secretaries in the State civil service, at the Executive Council Chamber on Monday.
Describing the Permanent Secretaries as the engine room of government, Governor Mbah charged the new appointees to align with and strengthen the administration’s reform agenda.
He noted that these reforms, as reflected in the proposed 2026 budget before the State House of Assembly, have placed Enugu State in the trillion-naira budget bracket for the first time, a milestone the governor said, demands greater responsibility, efficiency, and accountability from the top civil service leadership.
