Governor Godwin Obaseki has begun his re-election campaign in Edo North from Akoko-Edo Local Government Area with a visit to the palace of the Otaru of Igarra, Oba Emmanuel Adeche Saiki II.
Speaking, Obaseki informed the Oba about his intention and that he came to the palace to seek for royal blessings as he embarks on his campaigns.
The incumbent Governor used the occasion to highlight the success recorded by his administration in the last 4 years especially in terms of infrastructure development, prompt payment of salaries and pensions.
Obaseki said even though a lot has been achieved; there was room for more to be done when he secures a second term in office.

He told the Governor to advice the youth not to engage in thuggery and electoral violence.
Another monarch, the Edafe of Enwan, Oba Peter Okara commended the Governor for the proactive steps taken by the State Government to check the spread of COVID-19.

Oba Peter Okara appreciated the prompt payment of salaries and construction of some roads in the area.
He said the palace recognises that much has been done and hopes to benefit more in the next four years of the Obaseki-led administration.
