Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has launched a thirty year development plan which seeks to revolutionise the State and set it on the path of sustainable growth and development.

The launch was done at the 2021 edition of the Alaghorado summit in Benin City holding simultaneously with the thirtieth anniversary of the creation of Edo from the old Bendel State.

It is the fifth edition of the Alaghorado summit organised by Edo State Government in collaboration with the private sector to showcase investment opportunities and engender sustainable development.
The 2021 edition is two fold as the state is also marking thirty years of its creation and the summit has as its theme: Edo of our dreams: building a sustainable future.

The thirty year development plan for the State is expected to address poverty and sustainability issues through focus on critical development, private sector enhancement, human capacity and infrastructure development.
Speakers at the summit note the importance of pushing reforms with far reaching positive impact on the people.
There was a plenary session on empowering the next generation through innovation and another on digitisation and reinventing governance: the bottom up approach.
