Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State added another feather to his cap with the prestigious Vanguard Newspaper Governor of the year award in recognition of his transformative leadership.
The 13th Annual Vanguard Personality of the year Awards ceremony which took place in Lagos recognised and celebrated different categories of people ranging from those that have distinguished themselves in their chosen fields.
Among the awards governor Oborevwori received this year include ThisDay Governor of the year award on fiscal discipline and Infrastructural Development. The theme “When the Going Gets Tough… The Tough gets Rewarded” definitely suits the resilience of Governor Oborevwori commitment in transforming Delta state despite the challenges.
This was aptly captured in the words of the founder of ThisDay Newspaper Nduka Obaigbena and former Commonwealth Secretary General Emeka Anyaoku.
This was followed by yet another of its kind from the Publishers of Telegraph Newspaper where Governor Oborevwori emerged Best Governor of the year on Infrastructure.
His impactful leadership and transformative initiatives across the state through his MORE Agenda earned him Vanguard Newspaper Good Governance Award.
