Despite having less than two months to complete his tenure, Delta state governor Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has continued to give credence to his earlier promise of having burning desire for building a sustainable infrastructure for the growth and development of Delta state.
This stance of Governor Okowa was showcased when he embarked on inspection of ongoing work on Storm Drainage channel which cut across Owa-Alero and its environs through Owa- Ali ozor and Owa Offie to be discharged in Iyi-Amah stream in Ika North East Council Area.
Governor Okowa while fielding questions from journalists after the inspection said the multi-billion naira project which is 50% completed was embarked upon to ensure proper channeling of flood water from Boji-Boji through Owa-Ekei and Owa-Alero down to the river.

Governor Okowa further explained that The storm water drainage was part of his administration’s projection of strategic planning that would mitigate possible causes of problems in the future
According to the governor who was conducted round the project by the project consultant, he desires to commission the project before his administration winds up even if it happens at its tail end or in the early part of his successor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration.
