Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved a 25% advance payment to kick-start construction of a second flyover in Benin City.
He also gave the green light for the rebuilding of the Oba Market which was destroyed by fire a few years ago.
These developments were announced following the State Executive Council meeting held at the Exco Chamber of the Government House, Benin City.
Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Paul Ohonbamu alongside his counterparts from the Ministries of Finance, and Justice & Attorney General briefed journalists after the Wednesday, May 14th Executive Council meeting.

Ohonbamu stated that while work continues on Benin City’s first-ever flyover at the bustling Ramat Park, Governor Okpebholo has now approved an advance payment to initiate construction of a second flyover at Adesuwa Junction along Sapele Road.
Also, in line with Governor Okpebholo’s campaign promise to traders at Oba Market, the Executive Council has also approved the reconstruction of the market, which was razed by fire several years ago.
Additionally, the council approved several other road projects across the state for reconstruction.
