Edo state Governor, Monday Okpebholo

Edo state Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo has reiterated his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and equitable development across Edo State, assuring residents that no community will be sidelined under his leadership.

The Governor gave the assurance while receiving members of Owan Conscience – a socio-political group, who paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House in Benin City over concerns of alleged marginalisation of the Owan people in key political appointments.

Leader of the delegation, Richard Ofeimu, told the Governor that the Owan people feel marginalised in recent political appointments, particularly in positions traditionally allocated to the senatorial district.

The group appealed to the governor to give greater consideration to Owan’s interests in future appointments to ensure balanced representation.

Responding, Governor Okpebholo emphasized that his administration is guided by fairness, justice, and due process. He maintained that every community in Edo State deserves to benefit from government policies and programmes, adding that his government remains open, transparent, and committed to unity.

The delegation departed Government House reassured that their concerns had been heard and expressed optimism that their requests would receive favourable consideration.
