As Nigerians across the country commemorate Democracy Day, Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to upholding democratic values and delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.

In a statement marking this year’s Democracy Day, Governor Otu congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and Senate President Godswill Akpabio, on what he described as a significant milestone in Nigeria’s democratic journey.

He noted that Democracy Day offers an opportunity for sober reflection and a renewed dedication to the principles of freedom, justice, and inclusive governance.

Governor Otu assured citizens that his administration remains focused on improving lives through strategic investments in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic growth, key pillars he says are essential to a thriving democracy.

He also called on the people of Cross River State to actively participate in democratic processes by engaging in civic duties and promoting peace and accountability at all levels.

Governor Otu’s Democracy Day message reinforces his administration’s promise to entrench transparency, protect citizens’ rights, and deepen democratic governance across the state.
