Gov Soludo condemns killing of soldiers at Anambra state checkpoint

Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo

Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has condemned the attack on a security check point at Umunze in Orumba South Local Government Area, which left several soldiers dead.

The soldiers were said to be on patrol duty when they were ambushed by gunmen.

A statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime says Governor Soludo has directed that the perpetrators be apprehended, and be made to pay for their crime.

“We are not going to rest on our oars, including those people that attacked Senator Ifeanyi Ubah and the rest. There will be absolutely no hiding place for them,” part of the statement read.

The casualty figure from the attack was yet to be ascertained at the time of the filing of this report
