Gov. Sule Immortalizes Late Aren Eggon

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule has named the Nasarawa Eggon Modern Market after the late Aren Eggon, Dr Bala Angbazo, for his contributions to Eggon community and the state at large.

The governor said this at the funeral ceremony of the late paramount ruler which held at his country home, Awayi, Wakama Ward in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area of the state.

The governor, who eulogised the good virtues of the late traditional ruler, said the ongoing construction of the Nasarawa Eggon Modern Market would be named after the royal father when completed.

Sule noted that the late royal father contributed positively to the development of the state and the country at large.

He, therefore, prayed for the repose of the soul of the monarch.

The President, Eggon Cultural and Development Association, ECDA, WorldWide, David Abuluya, said that Eggon nation has lost a great peace promoter and a rare gem.

Abuluya said the deceased had contributed immensely to the development of education, religion and other sectors of the economy in the country.

President, Evangelical Church of West Africa, ECWA, Rev. Stephen Panya, who presided over the burial rites, urged Christians and other Nigerians to live exemplary lives worthy of emulation.

The burial had in attendance, prominent personalities including Governor Sule and his counterpart from Plateau State, Governor Simon Lalong and the All Progressives Congress, APC, National Chairman, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, as well as Emir of Lafia HRH Justice Sidi Bage (Rtd), who led other traditional rulers among other personalities.

The late Angbazo was born in Wakama District of Nasarawa-Eggon Local Government Area of the state in 1933.

He ascended the throne of his forefathers on July 11, 1981, and reigned for 41 years before his death on July 13, at the age of 89.
