The Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, has called on the leaders of the southeast geo-political zone, to set aside their political differences and speak out against the raging insecurity situation in the zone.
Umahi made the appeal while flagging off the membership registration, and revalidation exercise of the All Progressive Congress, APC in Ebonyi state.
Governor Umahi, who also doubles as the Chairman of the southeast Governors Forum, says a new dimension was taking place in the zone, where some communities now resort to using the name of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB to ferment troubles against herdsmen living in their area.

The Governor describes this development as dangerous and wants leaders of the zone to speak out against it.
Governor Umahi however noted that in view of the volatility of the forest zones in the South East and other parts of the country, there was the need for people to steer clear from the forests for their own safety.
On the APC membership registration and revalidation exercise, the Governor is hopeful that the exercise would intensify the grip of the party in Ebonyi state.
