Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma has inaugurated Liaison Officers for the 305 political Wards in the State, charging them to propagate the ideals and achievements of the State government in their respective areas.

Performing the ceremony at the Sam Mbakwe Exco Chambers, Government House, Owerri, Governor Uzodinma says the appointment is a way of enhancing his administration’s inclusiveness, by engaging personnel to work at different strata of governance and contribute their quota to the “Shared Prosperity” administration.

The Governor notes that the coming on board of the 305 Ward Liaison officers drawn from the 27 Local Government Areas of the State is aimed at sustaining the peace that has been achieved by government in their various communities.

He challenged the appointees to work hard towards defending government programmes alongside other party structures on ground.

The Governor also urged the Officers to use their offices to ensure that the relative peace being experienced in the State is sustained.

Responding on behalf of his colleagues, Eke Uzoma assures the Governor that they will put in their best by driving the achievements of the State government to the grassroots.

With the additional 305 liaison officers injected into the number of political appointees in the State, it is expected that the unrests taking place especially at the rural communities will be addressed and allow for the implementation of government’s developmental agenda.
