The Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma has expressed satisfaction with the pace of work at the 7,000 sitting capacity new Imo International Conference Centre, IICC after undertaking an inspector tour at the project site.
Uzodimma said the Centre when completed would be enough to host world class conventions and attract external bodies which will in turn enhance the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) status of the State.
Speaking on its viability, the Governor revealed that he embarked on the project after a study of the various sources of revenue that will possibly come into the coffers of government, which will include revenues from beyond the shores of Imo State, especially from international investors.
The Imo International Conference Centre project which was designed to meet up global standards, was started late last year and is expected to be completed soon.
