Governor Hope Uzodmma after signing the bill into law explained that Imo State has decided to replicate the federal government’s policy so as to help institutions in the state function optimally.
Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Chike Olemgbe said the lawmakers took into consideration the fact that the bill will encourage productivity of teachers at the primary and secondary education sector of the State.
The lawmakers had earlier in their plenary congratulated Governor Uzodimma on his victory at the off-cycle governorship election, where the House of Assembly also passed a vote of confidence on INEC and security operatives for conducting a free, fair and credible poll.
