The Rivers State Government on Tuesday signed a contract worth 12 Billion naira with the Julius Berger Nigeria PLC for the construction of two additional bridges in Port Harcourt.
Speaking at the ceremony Governor Nyesom Wike, says apart from improving the landscape of the state, his main goal is to provide quality infrastructure that will make life better for the people; saying that it’s the only way he can pay them back for the opportunity given him to serve.

The bridges are to be constructed along ikwerre and Olusegun Obasanjo road and rumukalagbor, popularly referred to as water lines junction.
They will bring to 8, the number of bridges being constructed simultaneously, by the wike administration in the last fourteen months.
Three of them: Rebisi, Okoro-nu-do, and Rumuoga have already been completed while the ones at Rumuola, GRA, and Ogbunabali are nearing completion.
Governor wike says he’s happy with the legacy his administration is leaving behind. He also used the opportunity to apologise to the residents, for the inconveniences they may encounter during the period of construction
The delivery date of the two flyovers has been put at 12 months.
