Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike says he is proud of his performance during the May 28 and 29 PDP Presidential primary election saying he would have won the exercise were it not for the politics of religion and ethnicity that played out and denied him victory.
Speaking at the commissioning of a road project in Port Harcourt, Governor Wike says the people should be proud they have a son and Governor who would defend the interest of the State at all times.
It was the second day into the two-week long period of commissioning and flag-off of projects in Rivers State.
Reacting to criticisms against comments he made on Monday at a similar event, Gov. Wike says the good service he has rendered to the people will at the appropriate time prove that he is fully in charge of Rivers State.

He says Rivers people should be proud they have a son and Governor who will defend the interest of the state at all time.
A chieftain of the APC and former Governor of Sokoto State, Senator Aliyu Wamakko was invited to commission the project on Tuesday.
Senator Wamakko also describes the Rivers State Governor as a dynamic and courageous leader who has the best interest of his people at heart.
