Commissioners and political appointees, Heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies, and government under the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, have been charged to ensure financial transparency and open government policies, in their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs for the rapid socio-economic development of the state.
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed gave the call, when he declared open, the 2024 state-wide Ministerial Press Briefing, held at the auditorium of the Abubakar Umar Secretariat, in Bauchi State, North East Nigeria.
After it was abandoned for eleven years, the Bala Mohammed-led administration has brought back, the state-wide Ministerial Press Briefing, where Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Government, usually unveil their achievements, and this time around, it would be conducted on a quarterly basis and not annually, as it was in the past.

Declaring the event open, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, represented by the state’s Head of Civil Service, Yahuza Adamu, and the Commissioner for Information, Usman Danturaki, said the ministerial press briefing is an avenue that would serve as a feedback mechanism, between the government and the governed.
Other speakers like the Commissioner for Budget and Multilateral Coordination, Aminu Hammayo, and that of Education, Dr. Jamila Dahiru, applauded the Bala Mohammed-led administration, for promoting transparency and accountability in government, saying that with this ministerial press briefing, various MDA’s will showcase their laudable achievements, and profer solutions to various challenges.
The Commissioner for Education, Dr. Jamila Dahiru, used the forum to speak on the current status of out of school children in Bauchi State.
The theme for the 2024 Ministerial Press Briefing is, “Actualizing the Dream of My Bauchi Project,” and it is expected that at the end of the exercise, a compendium will be produced, which will serve as a record and reference, for the continued growth and development of the state.
