Government at all levels in Nigeria have been told to concentrate on human capital development.
President of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM), Ahmed Gobir and other speakers gave the advice in Ilorin the Kwara State capital during the third Annual Conference of the Institute.
According to the human resource professionals, Nigerian workers must also think about their personal growth and development alongside appeals to the federal and sub-national governments to work out ways on exposing workers to further capacity building training.
The Director General of Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies, Issa Aremu said the greatest challenge in the global workplace environment is the “crisis of compensation” advocating appropriate monetary policy that will make purchasing power sustainable.
Conference speakers were unanimous of the view that Nigerian workers need to equip themselves with the insight and tools needed to navigate the evolving workplace landscape.
