Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Thursday launched the Imole Youth Corps, engaging 10,000 youths across 332 wards in the state.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony held at Freedom Park in Osogbo, Governor Adeleke reiterated his administration’s commitment to addressing youth unemployment, stating that over 250,000 jobs have been created in the last two years.
At a grand ceremony held at the Freedom Park, Osogbo, Osun state Governor Ademola Adeleke said the occasion was a major highlight of his administration’s push to address youth joblessness alongside other indirect steps to engage the youths across various sectors.
He explained that the program aims to provide job opportunities and skill trainings in health, security, environment, and education.
He charged the corp members to demonstrate strong commitment in whatever sector they are assigned.
Earlier in his remarks, the Commissioner for Youth Development, Moshood Olagunju, while congratulating the Imole Corp members, tasked them to be good ambassadors of the newly created youth engagement platform.
To tackle unemployment in Osun state, Governor ademola Adeleke said more than N1 billion revolving loan had been committed to small business financing.
