Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has declared his preference for local contractors as a way of creating more job opportunities in the state with the right enabling environment to boost the economy.

Adeleke stated this during the second edition of his quarterly Interactive Programme tagged “Ipade Imole” held at the Palace Square of Owa Obokun in Ilesa, where a new logo for the state was unveiled.

The Governor says the interactive engagement and accountability programme was created to enable him interface directly with the people of the state and receive feedback from them.

Outlining his scorecard , Governor Adeleke explained that great infrastructure development has been achieved since his assumption of office. He says these include the revitalisation of primary healthcare centres and incorporation of pensioners into the free health insurance scheme among other developmental strides.

The Governor further disclosed that work is ongoing on different water projects in the state to ensure that the people have access to clean and safe water.

The Governor in his remarks also said that he has brought sanity to the mining sector in the state by securing shareholding from a mining company, with an order for it to reconstruct Iperindo-Ilesa Road under its Corporate Social Responsibility.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, commended the Governor Adeleke-led administration for its efforts on quality governance in the state.

Representatives of the Christian and Muslims communities, Unions and Associations also used the occasion to make requests from the Governor.

Earlier, Governor Adeleke flagged off the dualisation of 6.2-kilometre Ilesa-Akure Express Junction-Brewery-Ereja-Palace Square Road in Ilesa.
