The Governor warned that any contravention of the directive would be met with severe sanctions which may including dismissal
Cross River State Governor, Professor Ben Ayade directs all commissioners and other political appointees in his government to henceforth desist from granting media interviews or making public and policy statements on social media without his approval.
Ayade gave the directive in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Christian Ita, in Calabar on Sunday.

The Governor warned the commissioners and other appointees against granting or making radio and television interviews and appearances from the day of the statement.
He explained that every commissioner should prove their performance on the field rather than on social media without justification.
He said only his Special Adviser Media and Publicity and the Commissioner for Information are exempted from the ban.
