Governor Bello suspends activities of weekly cattle markets across Niger State

Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger State has approved the suspension of activities of the weekly cattle markets across the state.

The measure which takes effect from the September 1st indicates that anyone conveying cattle into the state must present way-bill evidence, indicating the take off town and the destination.

The Governor in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Ahmad Matane, also banned the sale of petroleum products in jerry cans and other containers across the state.

The statement also directed filling stations not to sell petrol of more than ten thousand Naira to any vehicle at a time.

It also urged filling stations to be wary of vehicles or motorcycles, repeat purchases.

The state government also suspended the operation of trucks conveying firewood and timber, across the state

It also restricted the operation of motorcycle owners from 6a-6pm.

The statement said the state government will continue to take measures that will curtail the activities of bandits.

It calls on the security agencies to ensure strict compliance with the measures.
