Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno has warned criminal elements who think that the State is a safe haven for their operations to desist from their activities as his administration will fish them out.
Governor Eno said this in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital in response to news of the beheading of a Police inspector, simply identified as Osang in Uyo, the capital city.

According to the Governor, “If criminals believe that Akwa Ibom State is a place for them to hibernate, I am warning them to stay away.”
Also reacting to the gruesome incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the State, SP Odiko MacDon described the incident as unfortunate and expressed the condolences of the State Police Command to the family of the slain police officer.
MacDon assured that investigations were underway and stated the resolve of the Police to rid the streets of criminal elements.
The Police Inspector was reportedly murdered in his private residence around Enen Afaha and Afaha Ube axis of Uyo by suspected hoodlums.
The motive for the killing could not be ascertained.
