Katsina State Governor Aminu Masari has signed a N289 billion 2023 budget of 289 billion into law.

The budget was increased by one billion naira as against the 288 billion naira estimate presented by the governor to the State House of Assembly last November.

Governor Masari said this was done after necessary deliberations and defence by various ministries, departments and agencies aimed at meeting the yearnings and aspirations of the people.

During the signing ceremony at the council chambers of Government House Katsina, Governor Masari said it marks the beginning of the end of his tenure as governor of the state since his administration will operate the budget for only five months before leaving office.

He said the people of the state will miss his administration saying, saying his cabinet performed credibly since taking over power in 2015. especially in terms of infrastructure.

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the governor appealed to Nigerians to understand that leadership is about taking responsibility and taking unpopular decisions today that will be meaningful and beneficial in the future.

He urged Katsinans to vote in the APC again in next year’s election to ensure a continuation of the dividends of democracy and consolidation on the gains recorded so far.
