Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah

As Nigeria remembers its fallen heroes in the annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah has called on citizens to reflect deeply on the factors that lead to situations requiring the deployment of armed forces personnel into harm’s way.

The Governor made this appeal during an inter-denominational church service held at Wesley Cathedral Methodist Church Nigeria, Uwani, Enugu, as part of activities to mark the 2025 celebration of the day.

Represented by his deputy, Ifeanyi Ossai, the Governor emphasized his administration’s appreciation of the sacrifices made by military personnel.

He notes that in recognition of their service, the government has made significant investments in cutting-edge technology, including the recently commissioned Command and Control Center, to enhance security operations across Enugu State.

The Methodist Archbishop of the Enugu Archdiocese, Christopher Ede, also reassured uniformed personnel and the widows of fallen officers of the church’s unwavering support and prayers for their well-being.
