The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has urged residents to resort to self-help by defending themselves insisting that the country is at war and drastic measures must be taken.
He made the call in reaction to recent reported attacks on communities in the State believed to be coordinated by armed herdsmen.
Ortom repeated his call for the umpteenth time at the burial ceremony of Second Republic Speaker of the House of Representatives, the late Benjamin Chaha.

Other prominent personalities equally paid their last respect.
The former Speaker who hailed from Ukum Local Government Area of the State passed on the March 9 at the age of 96.
