Benue State Governor and leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Nigeria’s North-Central Zone, Samuel Ortom has waded into the crisis rocking the Niger State Chapter of the party.
Ortom says with the abysmal performance of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, the next general election is for the PDP to win if only members can reconcile their differences and reposition the opposition party
While most of the 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory have put behind them the State congresses of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP with duly elected executives, the Niger State Chapter of the party is struggling with the exercise due to a couple of internal issues.
Leader of the party in the North-Central Zone and Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom met with key players of the party from the State led by former State Governor, Babangida Aliyu to address the growing internal concerns threatening to tear the party apart.

It’s the second of such reconciliation meetings in quick succession.
The mediation was warmly accepted by the various stakeholders who expressed satisfaction with the resolution.
A similar meeting was convened late August but did not yield the desired results but the new resolutions raise hope that a rancour free state congress will successfully hold this time around
