Rivers State Governor Siminlayi Fubara says what many see as the political travail he has suffered in the last year and a half is actually God’s purpose in his life and for a new direction for the state.
Instead of being weakened by the efforts of detractors hell-bent on destroying the state, the governor says he’s getting stronger and more motivated to do good things for the people of the state.
Speaking at a thanksgiving service by the Chairman of the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers, Governor Fubara says he would continue to uphold the fear of God in all his undertakings, adding that his goodness will be a reason for God to save him.
It’s another Sunday, and Governor Siminalayi Fubara has joined other Christians at the Redeemed Christian Church of God Shepard’s Parish in the Obio-Akpor local government area to worship God.

His presence also coincides with the thanksgiving service by the Chairman of the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers, Chike Worlu-Wodo.

The 78-year-old monarch is thanking God for his mercy and for always being by him.
He also uses the opportunity to thank all those who have supported him, including the Rivers State Governor.
Using himself as an example, Governor Fubara says there’s no prayer that God cannot answer.
He assures that he’ll continue to govern the state with the fear of God.
Governor Siminalayi Fubara also calls the people to, irrespective of their differences, join hands with his administration to build a united, peaceful and prosperous Rivers State.
